Safari Saon
I know I never finished my Corbett travelogue, and here I am on yet another tiger trail. This time all roads, rather rails, lead to Ranthambor!
RANTHAMBOR—has a nice royal tinge to it, don't you think? The Rajputs sure knew how to lay it out in style! Anyways, here goes. We're to board the Dehra Dun Express at 22.10 hrs from the New Delhi station tonight. Got bookings for a couple weekend deal at some place called, "Tiger Den"!
The hotel people are supposed to pick us up from the Sawai Madhopur station at five tomorrow morning. "Sawai Madhopur"! We'll never believe it till we actually get off at some dimly lit station of that name! Do places like that still exist? Gas lights and empty rail stations I mean...
Bracing myself for something that'll take me away from this urban drudgery. Hope I live to tell a tale! Tail a tale! Tell a tail! I think I've truly lost it now...
