Lodestar

My muse, my lodestar,
Timely catalyst, my friend---
Let them call you what they will;
But any other name would never fold
The thousand-petalled lotus
Abloom in my heart, upon itself---
Nor would it turn my gaze away
From the wildflowers by the wayside;
Nor shut away my second and
Third admiring glances at a
Resplendent firmament reminiscent
Of a Turneresque canvas wide---

When you stretched out and
Touched my slumbering soul, I
Relearned the swoop of a falcon in flight;
Remembered the serrated edges of a fine fern, and
Rediscovered my Venus within---

The navel may yet sprout a circuit umbilical;
The twin heart may yet set ablaze a thousand suns;
The third eye may yet acquire a sight prescient;
But through all of life's crossroads taken and more ahead,
You shall remain my lodestar,
My timely catalyst, my friend---
